Durr Technik’s compressors & vacuum pumps are successfully been used in the Medical Industry. Main reasons for this choice are, oil-free, longlife cycle, 100% duty, maintenance free, and superior reliability.

We have a standard range which is suitable for a very high percentage of application but we have designed & manufactured bespoke units for many of our customers.

One application is for a Oxygen Generator, we took our standard A-062 air compressor from our KK-15 range, this is a twin headed unit, we re-engineered this compressor to run the two heads independently. The first head compresses the oxygen from 1.1 bar to 4 bar, delivering a flow of approx 6 l/min. The second head provides normal air at 3.5 bar delivering 19 l/min. This solution met our clients performance criteria in addition to the other benefits of oil-free, low noise and maintenance free delivering a total package of absolute reliability and low cost of ownership.
We have also developed an air compressor unit for the application of Trigger Shock Wave Therapy, a relatively new treatment provided by the Medical World.
Oil-free compressed air is used to drive a “medical hammer” which delivers radial shock waves to the treated area on the body, for example “Myofascial” a permanently contracted muscle.

Our solution was based on our KK-8 range, the specially designed unit is our A-034, this provides 4 bar with a flow rate of 14 l/min of oil-free air.

We have provided other solutions for clients involved in endoscope disinfection, shock wave therapy, autoclaves, blood gas analysis, secretion extractors, dental kilns and therapeutic products.
Our clients inform us that their choice was based on many factors but the key areas were, high reliability, thermal stability, light weight, low noise, compact design, IP54 protection class and of course oil-free.
